Maintenance
The Street Department provides maintenance of all city streets, including Lost Creek Parkway, U.S. Highways 30 and 81 that traverse through Columbus. The department also maintains traffic signs, most traffic signals, trims, and removes street trees.

- Maintain gravel roads and alleys
- Maintain traffic control devices
- Mow ditches and levees
- Paint striping of street lanes and city parking lots
- Pot hole patching
- Snow plowing
- Storm sewer maintenance
- Street maintenance and repairs

- Public right-of-way weed spraying
