The primary function of the Columbus Fire Department is to provide fire and rescue services. The Columbus Fire Department also provides the following:

- ALS (Advanced Life Support)
- ALS Intercepts to other communities
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Technical Rescue Service
- Hazmat Response
