Don't miss history on display! A World War II Higgins boat, which was created by Columbus' own Andrew Jackson Higgins, carried tens of thousands of U.S. troops into battle in beach assaults from Normandy to Iwo Jima.
It is on display in front of the Andrew Jackson Higgins National Memorial in Pawnee Park until about 3 p.m. today, July 5th, 2023.
U.S President Dwight D. Eisenhower famously called Higgins "the man who won the war for us."
