The City of Columbus was recently reassured its in financially sound position after receiving the results of an independent audit.
FORVIS, LLP is a professional services firm providing assurance, tax and advisory services, conducted the City’s 2022 Financial Statement Audit for fiscal year ending Sept. 30, 2022 (the City’s new fiscal year begins Oct. 1 annually).
“In our opinion, the accompanying financial statements referred to above present fairly, in all material respects, the respective financial position of the governmental activities, the business-type activities, each major fund and the aggregate remaining fund information of the City, as of September 30, 2022, and the respective changes in financial position, and, where applicable, cash flows thereof for the year then ended in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America,” FORVIS wrote in the report.
City Finance Director Heather Lindsley presented the 2022 audit to the Columbus City Council during its July 5th, 2023, meeting. Mayor Jim Bulkley and the council members seemed pleased with the results and accepted the report.
