Patrons don’t even have to get out of their cars to return and pick up library books during the week anymore.
Columbus Public Library’s drive-thru window is officially open. The drive-thru lane is located on the backside of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St. It can be accessed by taking 15th Street, then turning onto 25th Avenue and into the alley.
“We’re excited,” Columbus Public Library Director Jeri Hopkins said. “This gives us another opportunity for patrons to utilize the library when they’re in a hurry.”
The library drive-thru window is currently open Monday through Friday during library hours. CPL is open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday. Hopkins said staff will keep track of times when the drive-thru window gets most utilized to determine the best times to have it open moving forward.
Patrons can pick up or drop off CPL items using the window, though they are encouraged to put in a placeholder for specific items wanted via the library’s website before making the trip. That can be done by clicking here.
