City announces free dumping of storm-related trees, branches

In the aftermath of Tuesday night’s severe weather that ravaged much of the area, the City of Columbus’ Public Works Department is announcing times and dates for free dumping of damaged trees and branches as a result of the storm.

You will not need to scale in or out with tree branches.

1 p.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4

1 p.m.-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5

1 p.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6

8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7

1 p.m.- 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 9

Please note:

  • No contractors or commercial haulers
  • Use caution in the area, don’t block driveways, obey area speed limits

The City will not pick up any trees or limbs that are not from trees in the right-of-way.

The Columbus Transfer Station is at 570 S. 14th Ave. in Columbus.
