The Columbus Police Department has announced the people it arrested on Oct. 17 and what they were charged with after responding to a reported robbery.
CPD announced it arrested 59-year-old John M. Olsan; 33-year-old Jazmaine M. McManigal; and 22-year-old Dylan M. White.
Olsan was jailed for robbery, use of deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of an exceptionally hazardous controlled substance, possession of marijuana over 1 ounce less than 1 pound, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
McManigal was jailed for robbery and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.

At about 11:22 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023, CPD officers responded to a residence in city limits, where they were advised three individuals with knives had broken into the residence and stole a firearm from the home’s resident.
McManigal and White were arrested outside of 263 17th Ave. in Columbus, according to CPD Captain Doug Molczyk. Olsan was inside and did not initially comply with officers’ request to come to the door, Molczyk said.
A search warrant was obtained for the residence and CPD Officers, CPD K9 Unit, and a Nebraska State Patrol K9, served the search warrant. Olsan was taken into custody without further incident.
Officer Wehling and Investigator Zywiec were the investigating officers on the case.
“Columbus Police would like to thank the residents in that neighborhood as well as the staff at nearby St. Anthony's Elementary School for their cooperation during this incident,” Molczyk said.
