The Columbus City Council is gearing up for its upcoming meeting at the start of next week.
The Council is scheduled to have its first regular meeting of the month at 6 p.m. Monday in the Council Chamber/Community Room on the third floor of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St.
The Council will consider approving resolutions to OK interlocal agreements for providing emergency medical services (EMS) to Columbus Rural and Duncan Rural fire districts after months of discussion among all the parties involved. Agenda items also include appointing Theodore "Ted" Vaughn and Calvin Novak as firefighters/EMTs/paramedics/hazmat techs and hearing quotes for various projects.
Mayor Jim Bulkley is also expected to sign a proclamation requested by the Extra Mile America Foundation for "Extra Mile Day," which is said to allow us to appreciate the positive impact that we leave on our communities, organizations, and families when we choose to “go the extra mile."
