The City of Columbus would like to wish everyone "Happy Holidays" while reminding them of some important things coming up.
The Columbus City Council will have its next meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, in its Chamber on the third floor of the Columbus Community Building, 2500 14th St. The meeting was previously moved to the first Tuesday of the month in January because the first Monday falls on a holiday, New Year’s Day.
One of the main items of business will be swearing in Cynthia Alarcón as a new First Ward City Council member, as Mayor Jim Bulkley announced her appointment on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023, She fills the unexpired term of former Council President Beth Augustine-Schulte, who stepped down in November 2023 as she moved out of the district she represented. You can learn more about Alarcón's appointment by clicking here.
In the near future, the City will look to publish some recaps with updates about what city staff consider their "favorite stories of the year."
Recently, the City also published a free online fiscal budget guide. We encourage residents to check it out by clicking here.
