The City of Columbus' Public Works Department is asking residents to avoid a certain part of town as of 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, 2024, due to a water main that burst.
"Due to a 6-inch burst of a water main, we are asking people to avoid the area from approximately 28th to 30th Street on 18th Avenue," Public Works Director Chuck Sliva said. "Please, for the safety of our crew, stay clear of this area - 18th Avenue from approximately 28th Street to 30th Street is extremely icy and restricted to one lane due to response equipment and a safe work area for staff."
Sliva said those in that general area may have little to no water pressure for the next two to three hours as crews work to repair the water main.
"We apologize for the service interruption," Sliva said.
