Transfer Station still closed due to weather conditions

TransferStation2

Columbus and much of Nebraska continue to feel the effects of Mother Nature's recent winter blast.

As a result of the storm and road conditions, the Columbus Transfer Station will only be opened to licensed garbage haulers only today, Monday, Jan. 15, 2024, and Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024. The facility will reopen on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024, for regular business.

The National Weather Service still has Columbus listed under a 'Hazardous Weather Outlook,' with a wind chill warning in place through noon on Tuesday, Jan. 16. Monday is projected to be mostly clear, with a low around -15 and wind chill values as low as -31.

On Tuesday, residents can expect it be sunny but cold, with a high near 10 and wind chill values as low as -33 and plenty of winds.
