1. When is the outdoor warning system tested (Sirens)?

The outdoor warning system (Tornado Sirens) are tested from April to October on the first Saturday of the month at 11:00 am.

2. Is an “all clear” siren sounded after a tornado warning is issued and it is safe to come out of my shelter?

The sirens are not sounded for an “all clear”. If they are sounded again, it typically means the warning has been extended or this situation is very severe.

3. What should I do if a siren does not sound when tested?

The outdoor warning system is designed for outdoor use only and not to be heard indoors. You should have multiple ways to get severe weather information such as NOAA weather radio and news media such as TV and radio.
